7 Zero Waste Products You Need in Your Life

Something that I have really been trying to make a priority in my lifestyle is the idea of living “zero waste.” A Zero Waste Lifestyle is thought of as sending the least amount of waste to the landfill as possible (I love the way they explain the concept https://www.goingzerowaste.com/). It sounds like a huge task right? Not to worry, there are so many great products out there to help make the switch easier. Today, I am sharing with you 7 of my favorite zero waste products and yes, they are all from Amazon!

1. Reusable Bamboo Paper Towels

These paper towels are so legit! I was very skeptical at first but was willing to give them a try. I would argue they are thicker and more durable than regular paper towels. They soak up much more liquid than any brand I have ever tried. Through this pandemic, we have been cleaning a bit more than usual and cleaning definitely creates more waste than usual. These are a great alternative to eliminate this dilemma. These bamboo paper towels are machine washable and must air dry. The biggest perk? You always have paper towels whenever you need some!

2. Wool Dryer Balls

Wool dryer balls replace those single-use dryer sheets that you normally use to dry your clothes. You still get all the great benefits as you would dryer sheets but with way less waste and toxins (from the artificial fragrance). Dryer balls eliminate wrinkles, decrease drying time, reduce static. What more could you ask for? You can also plop a few drops of your favorite essential oil to have your clothes smelling sooo good.

3. Reusable Cotton Rounds

It is really so crazy to think about how many cotton rounds us ladies go through a day between removing makeup and applying skin care products. So much waste can be eliminated when switching to reusable. These pads are 100% cotton and are super soft and gentle, which is very important for removing eye makeup. They are larger than the normal size cotton round, big plus.  Also, such a great money saver because buying pack after pack of disposable cotton rounds can add upI A reusable set lasts for about 6 months ($11 for 6 months, I’m in!).  These are machine washable so when I’ve used all of mine up, I simply pop them in the washer and dryer for a fresh new set!

4. Silicone Stasher Storage Bags

Becoming an adult with a big-girl job, I realized quickly how many bags you use when you pack a lunch every day; and that’s just for myself, I can’t imagine having to pack an entire family’s lunch and how many bags you use then. So crazy! I have used reusable storage bags to take all my yummy snacks for about two years now and it’s the best thing. You always have storage bags and you never have to worry about running out. I have tried many different brands and Stasher is the best brand by far. Their bags are made of 100% silicone (Plastic-free, yay!), freezer-proof, oven-proof, and dishwasher safe. My favorite part about Stasher bags is how durable they are. I’ve had mine for 2 years and they are still in great shape!

5. Reusable Glass Water Bottles

I hope I’m not the only person who constantly forgets to fill up the filtered water pitcher. Ugh, it’s so difficult for some reason. If you have this same problem, then you probably pick up a disposable plastic water bottle instead. Since eliminating single-use plastics is a great way to promote zero-waste, these bottles are life-changing! I found this 6 pack of glass water bottles that I use as if they were disposable and it has changed the game for me. I simply keep all 6 filled with my filtered water so they are ready to grab when the pitcher is low or I’m on the go. These are also great to have for guests that come over and need to hydrate! After finishing a bottle, I pop them in the dishwasher to be filled again.

6. Reusable Glass Straws

When reusable straws became such a huge trend, most of the straws were plastic or metal. Those are great but have you ever tried a glass straw?! Definitely my favorite material yet. They are durable and solid but don’t feel weird on your teeth like metal straws.

7. Heavy Duty Reusable Grocery Bags

I am an avid and loyal Costco shopper. But, shopping at Costco also comes with figuring out storage and how to transport since the packaging is so oversized. I also live on the third floor of my building so after Costco trips, it’s tough to bring everything up in one trip. If you are a Costco lover like myself or just looking for some quality reusable bags, I have found the perfect bags for you! These shopping bags off of Amazon are so durable and large. They can fit so many products into them because of their large base. They definitely make it possible to stick to one trip up the stairs!

These products definitely help aid in the process of eliminating waste. However, recycling as much as you can, always choosing reusable containers, and being conscious of what we consume are great ways to contribute to a zero waste lifestyle 🤍
