5 Travel Rules that I Live By to Have a Successful Vacation

Hey friends! I am so grateful to have been on the go all summer long. The biggest way I have been keeping organized through it all is by following my five travel rules.

Here they are:

1. Grocery shop the first day you arrive for all of your essentials

Overspending can happen so fast when you are traveling. One of the ways that I eliminate this issue is always making sure the grocery store is one of my first stops. I always pick up essentials. My usual list includes water (TONS), coffee and creamer, granola bars or grab and go snacks, and breakfast foods. This trip was egg and cheese bagel sandwiches. Eating breakfast at your hotel or wherever you’re staying saves you so much money because breakfast/brunch can get pricey.

2. Create a trip itinerary

Traveling to a different city can be overwhelming with all of the choices you can make to fill your time. Making an itinerary sounds a little cheesy but it is the most efficient way to make sure to squeeze everything you want to see. On my itinerary I also include where I want to eat also.

3. Yes, plan out outfits but ALSO take a picture of full outfit

If you know that you have a specific event or activity that you need a certain outfit for then yes, definitely plan it out. But, I have also noticed that I plan out outfits but sometimes forget what my vision was once everything is packed together in my suitcase. So when I am trying on my outfits before packing, I take a quick picture so then I can look back to it on my trip and know what outfit I wanted to wear.

4. Keep your immune system up

I feel like this is especially important while we are living through a global pandemic but also just in general. I make sure to always take vitamin c and supplements daily. I switch off between my Lypo-spheric Vitamin C packets (https://shopstyle.it/l/bu0xN) and Liquid IV + Immune Support packets (https://shopstyle.it/l/bu0xP).

5. Prioritize activities you can’t do at home

No matter where I am traveling to, I always always always do my best to make the most out of my trip. I believe I can only do that if I follow this rule. After a trip, I always feel more accomplished and satisfied when I know I did activities that I don’t always have the chance to do back home. For me on this trip, going on a yacht was a big one for me and eating at the one and only Roscoe’s.

Here is my full itinerary for my weekend in LA:

  1. Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: Ordered my usual Iced vanilla latte with oat milk. So yummy!

  1. Sushi Hon: https://www.yelp.com/biz/sushi-hon-los-angeles My order: Garlic edamame, vegetable tempura roll, veggie roll

  1. Night out at Hyde on Sunset

  1. Boat day in Newport Beach

  1. In N Out (It wouldn’t be a trip without it LOL) My order: Grilled cheese with grilled onions, animal fries

  1. Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles: https://www.roscoeschickenandwaffles.com/ I haven’t come here since I started not really eating meat but I used to always get the Obama’s special with a waffle. Such a classic. My order this time: Cheese grits, greens, and mac and cheese. You can never go wrong with any item.

  1. Naomi’s Tacos (Off Obama & La Brea): My favorite taco spot!! I have come here the last few trips to LA. It is now a staple in my itinerary. My order: Bean and rice burrito.

  1. Night out at Sunset Room

  1. Breakfast at Highly Likely: https://www.itshighlylikely.com/ This café really does it all. We stopped here for breakfast before filming some videos. Anyone who knows me knows that I love brunch and fries very much so a place with both? I’m sold! My order: Brunch fries with an orange juice

  1. Yacht ride in Marina del Rey

  1. In N Out Take 2 (No judging!): At this point, y’all should know my order LOL!

  2. Koreatown Pizza Company: https://www.koreatownpizzaco.com/ Me and Gabi are always craving pizza during our weekends together. We wanted to try a place that was close so we tried this place. They have so many options so I’m sure you can find the perfect pizza for you! My order: Small Golden Greek pizza. It was super delicious except for the sweet glaze inside the crust. It kind of threw off the taste of the pizza. Next time I would get it without that in the crust.
